Tar and Chip Application on Township Roads
Dallas Township recently awarded a bid to Asphalt Maintenance Solutions (AMS) to tar & chip some roads in Dallas Township. Those roads are Goldsmith Road, Goodleigh Road, Glendalough Road & Raintree Drive. Work will continue Monday, July 15th and work should be completed by Friday, July 19th weather permitting.
The roads do not need to be closed when the work is being done, as one lane will be open during the tar & chip process. The portion that is tar & chipped will be drivable immediately after it is rolled.
Please be aware that there may be some inconvenience during the process. If you have any questions, contact the Township Roadmaster, at 570-674-2006.
Spring Clean Up
Curbside Leaf Pickup
The Dallas Township Road Department conducts annual leaf vac clean up Late September to December.
Residents are reminded NOT to rake, push or blow leaves into the roadway or near storm drains. Keep all leaf piles curbside. The leaf vac will be making its way through the Township on a rotating schedule, weather permitting. Curbside Bag Leaf Pick Up is conducted in November.
To ensure a smooth process, please remember the following guidelines:
•Leaves must be securely bagged in biodegradable paper composting bags.
•Plastic bags will not be accepted, so please help us keep our environment clean and green!
Winter Weather Conditions in the Forecast
Residents are reminded not to park on streets during winter weather conditions and to keep clear of the plow trucks when roads are being cleared and treated.

Residents are reminded that there is no street parking during snow and inclement weather events and 8 hours there after.
Road Department Recieves New Plow Truck
2022 RAM 5500 was delivered October 11th and will be in service for the up coming winter weather and road maintenance. Truck was purchased from the New Holland Auto Group and upfitted with plow, dump body and hydralic controls at Bradco Supply. The new truck is identified as truck #9 and replaces two plow trucks that were taken out of service in September. Old Truck #9 a 2009 Ram 5500 and Truck #2 a 2002 Freightliner FL80.
Road Department Salt Shed Project
A new salt shed for Road Department winter maintenance operations has been in planning and design since 2018. Project went out for bid in 2020 and site work started in February. Project bid was $368,551.00. The Township applied for DCED/LSA gaming grant monies for construction and was awarded $310,500.00. Dallas Area Municipal Authority Stormwater Management Program will also be participating in a cost sharing Stormwater improvement project for the site. The new salt shed will hold over 1,200 tons of salt. The new shed will be replacing the current shed that is over 40 years old and holds 90 tons. Updates will be given throughout the project with an anticipated completion being summer 2021.
